Baical Skullcap, Scutellaria baicalensis
Parts used: Root.
Constituents: Flavonoids 35%, flavone glycosides; baicalein, the aglycone of baicalin.
Actions: Anti-inflammatory, Anti-allergic, Antioxidant, Anticoagulant, Vasodilator, Sedative, Anti-bacterial, Anti-tumour.
High fevers with irritability, thirst, cough and expectoration of thick yellow phlegm, colds, bronchitis, leptospirosis, scarlet fever, hepatitis, cholecystitis.
Histamine and prostaglandin, asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, urticaria, hay fever.
Cataracts with diabetes, growth of H. pylori, toxins.
Atherosclerosis, high cholesterol.
Hyper active children, stage one in HPA dysfunction.
Influenza virus, bacillary dysentery, inhibitor of HIV.
Herbal extract: 30-60mL per week.
Contraindications: Pregnancy.
